Gluten-free answers, dish by dish · Delray Beach & Boca Raton

Know which dishes are actually gluten-free.

Crowd reviews tell you a restaurant is “GF-friendly.” Your gut needs to know about the fryer. CrumbSafe calls the restaurant and asks the questions you would — dedicated fryer, separate prep, staff training — then shows you the specific dishes that pass.

The problem

“Gluten-free friendly” is a review. A dedicated fryer is a fact.

Crowd-sourced GF apps

Star ratings from strangers, often years old, almost never about the dish you want to order.

  • Restaurant-level, not dish-level
  • “Seemed fine for me” ≠ safe for you
  • Nobody asked the kitchen about the fryer
  • No date, no source, no way to check

CrumbSafe

A structured phone survey of the restaurant itself, recorded with consent, extracted into dish-level answers.

  • Specific dishes, one by one
  • Kitchen-practice questions: fryer, prep, training
  • Every answer dated + attributed to a role
  • Cautious by design — unclear answers get flagged, not hidden
How it works

We do the awkward phone call so you don’t have to.

1

We call the restaurant

Our survey assistant phones each restaurant, introduces itself, and asks for a few minutes about gluten-free options. Disclosed, consented, recorded.

2

We ask the hard questions

Dedicated fryer or shared? Separate prep space? Staff trained on cross-contact? Which menu items can the kitchen actually make gluten-free?

3

Answers are checked, dated, attributed

Two independent AI passes must agree with the transcript — then a human confirms each answer against the recording — before anything is published. Each answer records who said it (manager vs. host) and when.

4

You order with the facts

Open a restaurant, see the dishes that pass and the ones to avoid — with the kitchen facts in hand to confirm when you order. Every answer is dated, so you always know how fresh it is.

Dish-level detail

The answer you need is never a star rating.

A shared fryer can make the “gluten-free” fries the most dangerous item on the menu. CrumbSafe surfaces the kitchen facts first, then grades each dish against them.

We publish what the restaurant told us, when, and who said it — and we down-weight kitchen-critical claims that didn’t come from kitchen staff. If an answer was unclear, it’s flagged, not rounded up to “safe.”

The listing shown is a sample to illustrate the format — real listings go live with launch.

“I’m gluten-sensitive myself. I built CrumbSafe because I was tired of interrogating servers — and still getting glutened.— Corey, founder · Slick Engineering, Delray Beach
